Entries now closed for Mile and 5km events at Landfill Rd on Sunday 14 April.

Over forty CH-CH Avon runners have entered.Late entries accepted on the day- but will attract a late fee.

WINTER OPENING DAY - SATURDAY 6 APRIL - CHAV CLUBROOMS (GREERS RD.)

Attendance at opening day is not compulsory. Registration in winter running will be able to be done online.

Venue: CHAV clubrooms, Greers Rd

Assemble: Clubrooms open from 1:30pm

Start time: 1:45pm

1:45pm - Welcome to 2024 - Introduction to the club & the season

2:00pm - Warmup - Craig will take a guided warmup for those wanting to learn how to warmup before a race or do your own warmup

2:30pm - CHAV Mile Races - 1609m on the CHAV track

3:00pm - Easter Egg Hunt

I joined Christchurch Avon when I was 8 years old and have enjoyed it ever since. I enjoy getting to meet new people and see my mates. I joined because some of my friends and I started cross country and we already knew some people at the club. I really like getting to do a variety of different track and field events.

I have been a member of CHAV for 6 years. The club has been excellent by giving me great coaching and competition opportunities. Most of all, I have enjoyed the amazing friendships I have made through athletics.

Christchurch Avon has a similar environment and a very good management structure that involves all ages.The Club has a lot of success with the younger members who are well coached. For an older athlete it is a delight to see the young athletes enjoying themselves so much while competing.
